I find you generally get a better quality of drunk on the radio... but, if they're not fit to travel they're not fit to travel, end of!
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

Friday night I had 5 jobs out of 20 at 11pm. Too much street work from 1am on, didn't bother with the app then. I'm waiting for the Kesh to open up closer to chrimbo, when they can't supply all the "stranded" passengers with taxis. Cha Ching.

No reason why not. NTA seem to facilitate suitability tests at very short notice where required.

Rodent going bobo hunting 75 yoyo for 20 if you offer 5 free waiting minutes thats 100 minutes and if it takes you 3 minutes to travel thats another 60 =160 minutes  if the PUC  covers the commission  thats in reality less than 30 yoyo an hour for your time going to and waiting .Questionable if its worth the effort .

Very few take 5 mins at night, as a rule of thumb a bird in the hand is better than two in the bush. However, I've had two no contacts in the last three weeks that weren't paid by the new automated system so I'm not using it at peak times unless there's a bonus.

Have you reviewed your advice to drivers to cover this work regardless of bonus payments to the exclusion of all other firms' and street work?

The proof of the pudding is in the eating. My takings for bonus Saturdays have matched the peak of the celtic tiger years from shorter shifts.

You know my advice we should pick one app and work with it .IF  there were multiple pay per job apps then Alison or Sharon or Jerome would just hit all of them and whichever car turned up first they would take and with so many no shows the scrub would be cancelled .

That’s something I hadn’t considered, it’s a very valid point, while competition is essential to keep monopolies in check, it could end up costing the drivers with a huge amount of no contacts .

It's already happening on the streets.Half of the folks putting out their hands out are the ones staring into a smartphone trying to book a cab via app too but getting no luck. There's a sense of entitlement to pay by card coming across that I've not seen before.Won't be long before we're forced to take cards like the London taxis.

Passengers using several apps for one fare is rare. There were always a few that'd ring several firms for a cab but very few and even less on apps. I suppose with apps they know that everything they do is tracked and logged so they figure they'll be banned if they abuse them. What will happen with competition is that they'll order from the firm with the shortest run in time displayed and eliminate firms that let them down. As time progresses they'll get pissed off with one and switch to another, get pissed off with that and switch to another, get pissed off with that and switch back to the first, etc, etc. Having two firms in Sword worked well over the years. Both pissed off clients every weekend so the clients switched back and forth from week to week.

The bigger question is whether drivers will use several apps. The likelihood is that they will use one or two at a time based on bonuses on offer or how much work is available. Running several apps means having several apps constantly drawing on limited resources of smartphones and mobile internet. Even with 4G four apps running simultaneously will slow each others communications. Slower communication will, in turn, result in less viable job offers.

Which one are you currently endorsing, erm? I'm guessing that you'll be in for a serious kick up the arse from Bill Cullen if Whistle or Flag (or any other app) impacts on mytaxi's virtual monopoly to any great extent.

Anywaysanall, back to the Xmas bonus. I didn't work Friday and managed the ton on Saturday, worked from 18:08 to 04:26. Having destinations on a lot more job offers helps.
