PC nonsense. Plenty of men are racist, why should they have to pretend not to be? I've often been flagged down and asked if I'm Irish. If I say no (which I do if I'm in a playful humour) they don't get in. If I say yes, they do.
Plenty of women are racist too! are sure you are not being just a little bit  just  being sexist?

They are but they tend to be more subtle. A good few women have told me they always cancel if the app (presumably, mytaxi) sends them an immigrant. I actually had to do that myself once as one of the men who was sharing the cab was adamant that he wouldn't travel with an immigrant.
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

The standard reply should always be...."If you have to ask...you can't afford me".

Anyone experiencing any issues with the updated app. When I get a job now the icons disappear from my notification panel and I have to use recent apps button to get back to it

I had that problem with the app crashing. If you turn off traffic info in settings it does not crash.Obviously they still have more work to do with their programs.

Will the navigation feature still pick the most efficient route if you turn off traffic info?

Igor my first job today with the navigation on. Customer was no where near where I was supposed to ick him up BUT the app wanted me to go a further 3.5 kms to turnaround to pick up the customer, besides there being an estate right beside where the customer was supposed to be.

Good to hear,
I thought I was the only One getting the ridiculous destinations !

Having covered 25 jobs on Saturday I've probably used the latest version more than anyone else. I find the navigation OK, the routes aren't always the one's I'd follow but they'll get you to the destination and it's easy to silence with the speaker icon. The number of riders entering destinations is increasing all the time (possibly down to it being an exceptionally busy night with punters figuring they're more likely to get service if they input their destination) so the navigation feature makes the job a lot easier for the immigrants that can't speak english and haven't a clue where they're going - it's a while since we had a whinge about them! It'll also prove hugely beneficial to new entrants. Back when I started we had nothing more than the map book, how things have changed. The way it's going it won't be long before the fukking cars driver themselves!

On the negative side the Android app no longer posts a notification icon when it's running in the background. This breaks convention and flies in the face of best practice guidelines which state that the icon is necessary (not just desirable) to let the user know that the app is using his device's resources. It also provides a simply way to call the app to the foreground and switch between apps. However, mytaxi's background running was always shit so this could be deliberate to encourage drivers to keep it on screen, particularly with new firms launching driver apps,

Aside from that, the fare entry process is still shit. It took 13 minutes to load the payment screen after one job on Saturday night, I'd forgotten what the fukking fare was by the time it popped up! It hasn't crashed as such for me yet but I've had to force close it a couple of times when it froze on job cancelled by passenger alerts. I also had a client tell me he cancelled without my having been told but that's happened a few times prior to the latest updates.
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

This is the shitest bit of th new update.

Also unfortunately the app is only as good as the person holding the phone.
Received a job during the night (Duke Lane), stupidly i followed the navigation(head was melted with Christmas dickheads (I mean revelers) and it brought me to clarendon street. Customs rang and asked could I pick her up on Dawson Street, I said nope. Customer cancelled and 8 times it gave me the same job but this time it was down as Clarendon Street.
As I said the app is only as good as the person at the other end of it.

also sometimes you don't get the job but you still get the navigation to the job .

I noticed that one, too. Only solution I found was to close the app and open it again.
