Uber's interest in Ireland doesn't extend beyond catering for it's international clients. I can't see that changing. Whistle is the new Hail0, this week!

Operating Whistle is like trying to tie your bootlaces with your toes .

Still, it's making significant inroads... imagine if someone like Bill Cullen had backed a technically superior product a few years back, he'd be a multi-billionaire by now!

Lip Hailo Mytaxi got a free run at it as we never embraced UBER  The way they treated drivers was is appalling so I would think now that we know the limitations of UBER with regard to Rideshare most if not all drivers will give it a try .If UBER came to market @8% commission Mytaxi would be wiped .Lets see how this plays out as I said probably a bonus fest to get or retain drivers and a confetti of free vouchers for travelers .Might make early next year a little profitable .

What is appealing about you, Johnny boy, is that you always see a silver lining within the darkest cloud. 8)

... or maybe someone like Bill Cullen will back a new app with 8% commission?

How he was dissuaded from backing an Irish taxi app, erm. Wasn't it your good self that advised him against investing in the trade. I'm guessing he's not the sort who will appreciate paying for bad advice.

UBER are here already. Ratser uses it, I use it.
They charge 12% commission, PUC allowed, no waiting time, automatic scrub fees. Tolls would be my bone of contention with them to be honest.
Payments used to be on Monday’s but have now slipped to Tuesday’s.

Technology is here to stay John, so warm to one of them and stick with it. Humans tend to spread themselves too thin and wonder why they lose their bargaining chips when playing poker.

Would he have a case against you for recommending him?
