More Brexity stuff
« on: December 19, 2017, 08:37:32 am »
As you do when you get home at stupid O Clock after your shift I was on line and watched a debate on Brexit from Asia and a frightening issue came up .Insurance a body from the insurance industry stated that if the UK leave the EU and drop out of the European Court of Justice which they say they will as they want British Courts for British Law not European oversight .Then there is a huge problem for especially us the Irish as we share the Island with them but this will apply to any transport using the UK .He said as there will be two different legal systems and two different standards of liability unlike now where the ECJ rules apply he recons that motor insurance and insuring goods in transit through the UK could increase by up to 80%. When we get motor insurance we are automatically covered to drive up north so will this mean that we will be automatically hit with huge insurance hikes after March 2019.

Many hidden little problems shall appear and the cracks will get deeper as it progresses. Several SME's just north of the border lines have being sniffing out properties in Monaghan, Cavan and Louth it seems. RTE did some local thingy on it recently. The hauliers will be wiped out...only Stobarts and the huge operators will be able to wing it.

We know that the insurance industry make the Kinahan Cartel look like choir boys you can be sure they will fleece us if the opportunity arises .Some Spanish contributor had a warning for Ireland he recons that the Spanish will want a hard border between Gibraltar and the mainland to choke off the Rock and he recons that the Spanish will object to any special border deal for the North .This Brexit thingey could knock the bollox out of the Irish economy we have two years to fill our boots and try to  clear off our debts before the next recession .

Did you ever get the impression, Mr Erm, that Taxi drivers think they'll always come out smelling of roses no matter the issue? What will the South Armagh Cabbies do with all the Fenians abandoning ship. No more cries of it's "ARE CULTURE" when the Black Preceptory can't rub it in at the end of the triumphalist marching season. I really think Mr Adams chose the right moment to do a Noonan and get the fuck out of dodge.

You all know my impression of  this .The Brits made a promise they wont build a border we can foot that bill but they will have checkpoints 100 yards in on their side to stop foreigners invading their territory .Republicans will see the border as a return to division and as we celebrate the 100 anniversary of when Collins sold out the North the blueshirts will once again sell them out for a deal with Europe .And like 100 years ago we have families on both side of the argument Pro Europe pro jobs or Anti Europe Pro Unity .Or else the Brits opt for a Woolworths Brexit cheap and nasty that keeps them in and out of the EU .One upside if the Brits retain freedom of movement in the Republic there could be a lot more tourists using the Boat .

Must be a Catalonian who doesn't travel a whole lot. There's already a hard border which has yet to choke the Rock, despite being closed for several years.
