I'd like to know when these flying drone taxis will put helicopters and airplanes out of business.

Could we sell our plates to the operators for a hundred grand...or are the NTA gonna release more plates to them and make another killin out of the taxi game!!

We'll still have jobs cleaning up the mess and chasing runners....but if they use google maps, well that could be interesting..especially in Dubh Linn.

Driver less cars sounds like a good idea putting an extra cunt on a Kardashian and adding another  tit also sounds like a good idea but I doubt either of them will catch on .

Driverless cars will drive us into town.  We'll shop in stores with no staff.  When we get home, our fitbit watch will tell the robot taxi where to stop so you walk the right amount of exercise on your way home.  Our fridges will order our food when we're running low.  A drone will deliver it.  Our home robot will open the door to let it in etc etc.  Your girlfriend/wife could live in a different country and you'll have sex via VR googles.

Why would you bother getting out of bed in the morning?

Think I'll watch the Matrix movies again over Xmas  lol

Currently there are level 3 driverless cars, it's reckoned level 4 will appear in about ten years time. level 5 (the level required to replace Taxis with drivers) will be at least another ten years beyond that, many moral/ethical questions need to be resolved as well as the technical ones.

Unlikely that self-driving cars will be taxis. Much more likely to be hackneys aligned to app based dispatch firms. NTA will probably issue a new Autonomous Hackney plate identifiable by the prefix S.
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

To give it some perspective: Remington, the famous electric shaver crowd, were laughed at back in the day when they said they were about to revolutionise shaving. Victor Kiam, the maven behind their products division, encouraged the military arm of the company to get behind his Ladyshave gear. Phillips and the rest of the boys laughed their bolloxes off.........guess who was right? People on the ground are generally 10 yrs minimum behind the technology so with that in mind, I'd say.......5 yrs.

The machines and tech costs will get bigger and bigger while development will get slower and slower.

Ah sure it'll sort itself out.
