Indeed, they approximated the last pace it was connected i.e. before the battery went flat or it was powered down.
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

I will do both tests and revert to the forum.

I'll do the First test tomorrow as I have a Schooly 'Cover' job at 3pm that
will take me 30km's outside of the city.
I'll turn Off 'Mobile data' and 'Wifi' and obviousely the Phone itself when I'm
30km's away and see what happens with 'Find my Iphone' when I get home.

I turned Off the phone 30km's outside the city, also turning off 'Mobile Data' and 'Wifi'.
On arriving home and going to 'Find my Iphone' it read;
"Device could not be found as No internet connection".

I turned the phone back on at home and refreshed the page, but the same message
came up again, as both 'Mobile data' and 'Wifi' were still disabled.

To sum-up; If the Iphone has an internet connection through Mobile data or Wifi,
then it can be traced regardless if the phone is turned On or Off.

I just did a 'Find my Iphone' check on my P.C. with my phone turned Off
and it had me within 10 meters of my own home.

Does it still track it with it apparently turned off or does it just give the last known location? Either way, the thief would just need to take the sim out but is probably more likely to discard it soon after stealing it.

https://www.rte.ie/news/dublin/2018/0117/934043-taxi-court/

Two teenage boys have been charged with a spate of robberies of taxi drivers in Dublin.

The boys, aged 14 and 16 appeared at Dublin Children's Court today and were remanded on bail with strict conditions.

They were charged with three counts of robberies of taxi drivers in the Tyrrelstown area on 10, 12 and 17 December last year.

It was alleged a phone worth €400 was taken from a taxi man at Curragh Hall on the first date and that another driver was robbed of a phone valued at €600 along with €200 in cash.

It is also alleged they failed to pay a €35 fare during the second incident, that €150 was taken and they failed to pay a €20 fare during the third alleged robbery.

The younger boy is also facing a further charge of failing to pay a taxi for a journey in Balbriggan in north Co Dublin and trespassing at a building site there following a chase on 12 December.

The court heard that up to six youths had been involved in the incidents and the 16 year old was regarded as being a leader of the group during the incidents.

His mother initially refused to come to court with her son and he risked being held in custody. She arrived later and apologised.

The boys have not yet indicated how they will plead and were ordered to abide by bail conditions including a curfew, an order to go to school and not to associate with each other.

Judge O'Connor warned that a breach of bail would result in them being remanded in custody.
Getting old is compulsory whilst growing up is voluntary.

Are they not reporting that in case they're accused of racism and the possibility that drivers won't pick up black youths!!
