mytaxi minimum fare
« on: January 16, 2018, 01:34:53 am »
Got a job last night from DCU to the old Premier Dairies (now a flats complex) in Finglas on account. Fare was €11.20 so I entered €11.00 and got an alert that said a minimum fare of €15 applied which I could charge at my discretion, giving me two option buttons i.e. continue with €11.00 fare or charge €15.00. As the client was watching I selected the €11 option but I've never seen this before. Does anyone know what it's all about and/or how it could be legal to enforce a minimum fare that exceeds the metered fare?
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

I know a certain despatch operator who puts his surplus work through Mytaxi even though they are discounted set fares. The set price comes up on the job conditions and you are expected to take the 12% commission if accepted. Refused it despite the despatch operator ringing me to see if I would do it.

Maybe yours was a pre book and they accepted a minimum charge waiver.
Trump has called for help, so I'm on a plane heading for The Strait of Hormuz, talk soon.

I've had a couple of jobs covering for other firms, Borough Cabs being one from your neck of the woods BS. If a set fare is revealed it's usually as a comment on the offer/job screen above the address. I don't accept those fares and I have had to return one client to T2 when he insisted that he had a set fare agreement that hadn't been communicated to me. Another conceded to paying full fare and pursuing the difference from the firm he booked with.

However, the €11/€15 options presented last night were built in to the mytaxi software so I'm inclined to suspect that it was a limousine job as suggested by JM. Why such a fare would come through to a 9 year old Octavia in desperate need of a wash is a mystery. I might have to ask the depot.
