EU getting pissed off with Ireland as we ignore our emissions liabilities ..https://www.irishtimes.com/news/environment/serious-rise-in-irish-greenhouse-gas-emissions-figures-show-1.3306961   SO HERE IS THE QUESTION>WOULD YOU INVEST IN ANOTHER DIESEL CAR OR WOULD YOU GO HYBRID OR PETROL?

We should try and have a real discussion .The Diesel Hybrid seems to be a contradiction Peugeot have abandoned it .As The Rodent says Toyota are proven Im thinking of changing depending on the NCT list of failures in two months .I dont know if I will I get the full 9 years out of a new Diesel before the Mung bean munching sandal wearers ban them from the City. Paris and London are banning them .Im looking at the Auris Estate Hybrid there are a few available on the Mainland and the Pound will come under pressure from brexit might get pound for euro £11,000 will get you 15 car .

I think Skoda have a Superb hybrid coming in a year or two.  I was thinking of getting a 6-7yr diesel for 3-4yrs and then get a Superb hybrid...

Priusssss just look silly to me.  Saw a 2016 one the other day with rear lights that were meant to be flashes of lightning or something?

Diesel... or maybe hybrid.
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

Loadabollix the last time I seriously considered changing the motor I convinced myself I should leave the industry as the money involved for a new heap wasn't worth it.I think I'll leave that scab alone until the car needs changing in 2021.4500 a year to keep yerself in a job still seems silly no matter what way I look at it.

Some lads are paying more than that in mytaxi commission. I reckon 3k/year is about right for car and maintenance, that's roughly where me 09 Octy will weigh in when it's forced off the road next January. Fucking car is barely run in!

It only feels like yesterday since you bought that one.Shame to see good taxis taken off the road by a number plate. The public complained about shite heaps next they'll be whinging over the fare increase not realising that the two things are related.

3K  a year for a car sounds about right .If I can get another year out of Satins Wheelbarrow for under a longone ill hold on to it .Its nearly new only 340000 on it . The big issue is fuel the Hippies might put the boot in on the diesels .
