Don't absorb them...bring customers to an ATM.

I wonder when the EU will rule that Govt can't charge bank customers the annual tax/levy for using their credit/debit cards but are quite happy for retailers to absorb debit/credit card commission charges.

The review was conducted before cc charges were outlawed. It could be taken into account next time round but you're not obliged to accept cards, the customer is obliged to pay in legal tender.
