You've some memory.  One link with no context in an unrelated 33 comment 3 page thread.  No one picked up on it.

Granted, the topic probably did deserve a thread of it's own, but it was El Tonio from
BallyFookinFermot that posted it and to be fair, he ain't the sharpest tool in the shed !

"He suddenly launched into a vicious attack on the 48-year-old taxi driver from Dundalk, punching him in the face and puncturing his neck.
The taxi driver lost several teeth in the attack and sustained injuries to his nose and chin as well as a puncture wound to his neck. He was taken by ambulance to Beaumont Hospital where he was treated for his injuries and later released.
The taxi driver has so far, been unable to give a statement to gardaĆ. "

Fer me that is not adding up at all, "Released from hospital" on the same night, but "Unable to give a statement to Gardai",
that makes no sense !
Also that he just happened to pick up a randomer who happened to be the last out of his cab and happened to be the spouse of the woman he was having an affair with seems a bit far-fetched.

Maybe he doesn't speak English very well, a lot of the Dundalk drivers that work Dublin are immigrants.
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.
