There is 22 billion in the plan for environment protection and somewhere else it says Dublin Bus to stop buying Diesel busses from next year .Is there a hidden warning in there .If you bought a new Diesel would you get the full 9 years out of it before they ban them or restrict them .

You will, save the car being written off due to a road traffic accident or wear and tear rendering it uneconomical to maintain. Any restrictions will apply to change of vehicle not licence renewal. Great to see a metro link to the Airport all the way from Sandyford and integrated with DART/bus services.

Rodent I wouldnt be sure of getting 9 years If I have to change its going to be hybrid .Unlike private motorists the Minister has the power to set standards for taxies .If he decides to offer a scrapage fee on a sliding basis Im sure it would stand up in court .The lads who took the case against the 9 year rule objected to the fast tracking not the principle that the Minister can set the standard .If Rainbow Leo needs the support of the Greens to form a government then it will be war on Dirty Diesels  A huge amount of money set aside in this plan for Environmental protection most of which will be used to pay fines for not meeting standards .
