Meeting today Taxi Reps DCC and the NTA. Proposal to Ban Taxis north south through college green 7am-10 am Mon-Fri. Rejected by Reps. Updates to follow. T.T.n.H

I thought the issue was banning taxies traveling South /North  as in Dame Street on to Westmoreland Street

It'll still be gridlock with the amount of buses travelling through there at the same time...that's the real problem,but they'd never admit that,they're hardly gonna move the Luas now...or ban buses!!

DCC are only tiddling the reps bollox the decision is made to ban taxies from College Green then climb down a bit and allow WATs suits the Hotels and the handicapped .Girl Councillor with the Profit From The People told me that 14 months ago .By allowing Wheelies they look like they care and win the PR battle against  the bad taxi drivers who might block up the streets .

PR Rodent they are a caring lot in DCC .Dont want pictures of wheelchair bound passengers trying to reach a rank dosent look good at election time .

In compensation for the morning time ban, taxis are to be allowed to turn left at the bottom of Dawson St and use the Luas tracks in front of Trinity College from midnight to 6am.

We do that anyway and not just between midnight and 6am, some compo that is.
