window problem
« on: March 12, 2018, 05:12:03 am »
having a bit of agro with the windows on my 2012 avensis.
its been going on a long time.
my window is grand but the other three windows have this issue.
when a passanger wants to lower the window it will lash all the way down as far as it'll go to fully open just by pressing it once for a second. Likewise if they want to raise the window up a bit it'll whip all the way up to fully closed just by pressing it once for a second. To get it open the desired amount they have to do a little UP/DOWN/UP/DOWN balancing job.
anybody know what the jackanorey is.

I think on my heap only the driver window has the auto uppy downy function. The rest don't.Think my switch only says auto on it.

They do have some sorta memory function though.Anytime I disconnect my 12v it has to learn the sensitivity again and goes up and down faster than needed for a couple of days.So if yer meter is ok pull the battery for ten minutes see if it helps.

Three things to try:

(1) Use the key fob to roll all windows fully down and keep the down (unlock) button pressed for 10 seconds when the windows are fully down. Repeat with the up (lock) button keeping it pressed for 10 seconds when the windows are fully up.

(2) For each window:
Use the driver's button to roll down fully - press to 2nd down position (Auto) if available, hold button until window has been fully open for 10 seconds. Repeat to roll up fully (again with switch held in Auto position where available) holding button until window has been fully closed for 10 seconds.

(3) Consult your local mechanic.

It's called re initialisation MFH.....after you reconnect your battery lower the window then close it and hold the switch in position for around 15 seconds.

Did ya work yesterday (Sun) in 'Bonus' mode Hal ?
It was Tariff 2, full PUC and no commission on Mytaxi jobs.

That's a lot better than working a Monday on Tariff One and
paying the full 12% commission.

Commission free work on Whistle and Flag with no need to metaphorically jump through large plastic rings. Rate 2 from 20:00.

I did work yesterday Ken,it was busy enough on the street but i did about 7 or 8 Mytaxiers, started at 3 and finished at 8,met the wife and daughter on their way back to Drog, they were in Blessington visiting the Mother in law.

What's with the window switch sagas!!

If the mechanic can't fix it you could try a main dealer. Failing that just tell the customers to leave the windows, seats, wireless, etc alone. You don't go into their workshops and rearrange the furniture, turn the TV over, turn the heating up, open the windas, etc..

"i've a bomb onboard" and "I'll end you and your family" works great as well.
