My system fer betting on the Placepot is to pick a few runners per race, always including the Fav, as it's most important to keep the bet 'Live' but hopeing that the Fav is unplaced and another of your selections gets placed.
I usually pick between 2 and 5 horses per race, in the big handicaps I like to have 5 on the go.

The lowest stake per line accepted on the Placepot is .10 Cent, so taking an average of 3 horses per race works out at 729 lines or a 79.20 stake. My usual stake is between 60 and 80Euro per day.

Firstly 35 years in the gambling game as both bookie and semi-professional punter.

My Cheltenham Placepot bets to date as posted and time verified on Roys Rolls;
2015; Got the Placepot up fer about 650Euro.
2016; Got the Placepot up again fer about 2,500Euro.
2017; Got the Placepot up on day One fer a measly 80Euro and then Hit the Crossbar
fer 2K on the Wednesday when all 5 of my selections were unplaced in the Coral cup.

I know, it still bugs me and I had the Odds-on Fav unplaced in a previous race with my other selection getting a place in the same race which meant that the dividend was going to be big.

Tricky Placepot today (Tues) with 4 Hot-pots. You must include the Fav in all these races to keep the bet Live but hope that the Fav will be unplaced and another of your selections finds the frame. If all the Fav's are placed the dividend will hardly get your stake back.

I went for the PP myself Ken bankered 3 Apples Jade and Buvie went Kalashnikodd against the fav in the second .Then dolly mixtures the other three races .Also had a 5er all fave through the card .If the 4 good things run their races they should all be placed so getting decent odds on the other two favs in the handicaps being placed .

No, No John M, Bankering is the complete wrong thing to do, what you need to do is include the Fav and have an outsider or Two on your list and hope that the Fav is unplaced and your other selection finds the frame. That is where the big money dividends are.

I know that ken but I watched a piece from Gordons where Apple Jade lead the work during the snow cant see her unplaced the Champion hurdle looks more like a vets waiting room with broken or mental horses so cant see the fav unplaced The first race looks like a 5 or 6 horse race with most of the field only entered to give their owners a runner .The Arkle you need more than one selection as Novice Chasers Fall a lot .I think bank 3 and dolly mixture the rest increase the chance of hitting the goal .You got to try to play it as you see it .

Fer me Maths and Odds have always been my strong point.
Of the 16 horses that I picked today, I could not tell you
the name of any of the horse's or his trainer/owner/jockey.
It's all about Maths and Odds !
