The test was tough when it was being utilised as an artificial barrier to entry. Now that TAC/NTA are actively recruiting drivers I'd say an illiterate monkey would pass with flying colours.
Are ya resitting the test ? 8)

mytaxi already has a fleet of hackneys, erm. Do you not remember Dave, loadsamoney (Dermot) and Bill telling us that they were needed to cover the work while also telling us that we had to give discounts to attract the work? However, there is currently a temporary moratorium on the issue of saloon taxi and hackney plates, introduced some time ago by that mean and nasty lady that gave us everything we asked for.

It's unfair to lay all the blame at Joe's door, DM. There are other so-called drivers' representatives sitting on TAC. mytaxi has been calling for more taxi drivers for some time - going right back to when it was called Hail0, in fact. A little while back it's then General Manager, Tim Arnold, was asked to join TAC. Under Tim's stewardship mytaxi spent millions of euros on vouchers and bonuses for drivers to further it's objectives. Theoretically, mytaxi putting €250,000 into each of the taxi drivers' reps pockets would be like you putting 25c in the church collection plate of a Sunday.

If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

What the add should read is.....Taxi drivers required on Friday and Saturday nights from circa 1am to 4am and must be prepared to sit and wait for long periods at other times. Also must be available to work when public transport is shut down for health and safety reasons... ie heavy snow drifts and flooding.Preference will be given to persons who have the ability for self improvement like cutting corners and reversing on to the front of a taxi stand.Taxi thingy will not be responsible for anything except collection of all fees....Applications on legal currency only to Minister for Transport Wesley Ross.
Dis an Dat Im not a rat

This is what your 12% commission is paying  for.Not one single person in the Mytaxi office drive taxis for a living.

12% only applies to some work add in the 2 yoyo backhander for picking up drunks and if they want to pay by CC its another 1.9% on top plus cleaning bills for youe Farras and time spent ironing shirts and polishing shoes .The average job from Finches is about 6 euro without the PUC .If I take a job by mistake I cancel it .I wont pay to pick up a drunk .The 79 in Ballyfermot now use the bouncers phone to get taxies for drunks as drivers wont take the pubs work.

The sales team that gets those accounts don't drive taxis. They're on a percentage of the work they bring in.Someone should tell them to stop getting discounted work.Times have changed. It only makes the app look shit when drivers don't cover the work.

I note they say GO to reception .I wonder if the receptionists noticed that the amount of cabs they call and the commission is miles off .If I see a job on the screen for a hotel or club I consider that as an invitation to gothere as there is work available the passenger dosent give a fuck if your called for them or not .A lot of drivers must be applying for scrubs from these venues or picking up and canceling .Wont be long before pubs cop on that taxies are avoiding them >I wouldnt pick up at the Red Cow even if they paid me a 20 euro bonus per job .We use to work it until the manager trew us all out one night if we didnt drive for Premier .I use to regulary pass by boomers if I was in Clondalkin Village to see if there was work now the bar use the app so I dont bother .I was providing a service for their customers with no PUC now the bar is exploiting customers by using the app .even if they are not getting the backhander the local drivers are avoiding providing the customers .Dont know how any self respecting taxi driver would drink in a bar that charges them 2 euro per job .
