i have cameras, was going to wait for insurance renewal then tell them i have cameras but im sure they will try to worm their way out of lowering the premium, will ask them if i got cameras would it lower my insurance by much, ask them how much, then tell the snakes i have cameras. what about getting an alarm fitted?

They dont encourage you to have cameras as it could be used to prove the accident was your fault and they would have to pay out .Keepstum on the Cameras but have the pics to prove your innocence IF POSSIBLE ?

I remember someone working in my insurers office telling me cameras would lower my premium. if there is an accident and it wasn't my fault i can show the footage to prove it.

Dont be silly if you fit a camera and crash and its your fault if you remove the evidence its a criminal offence .Why would you ever even consider informing your insurance company you have a camera .Insurance companies dont want film they prefer to deal among themselves .If they wanted actual evidence they would fit black boxes to cars but then they would have to pay out. Without solid evidence they can agree among themselves and make sure they never go broke .Thats why insurers re insure their possible liabilities .Insurance is a Ponzy scheme where the insurers never lose out .

Make sure you have a disclaimer notice informing the public you have cameras....data controller....?

"If the monitoring is for health and safety reasons, a data controller would need to demonstrate that the installation of CCTV was proportionate in addressing health and safety issues that had arisen prior to the installation of the system."

I have 700 euro to spend on business equipment relating to the taxi business, anyone any ideas? what would you buy?

3 screen taxi dashcam (front,rear and in-car) 400Euro.
Full size second-hand spare wheel, 55Euro.
Custom made leatherette LOWER passenger seat covers, 250Euro.
Garmin Sat-Nav (with free life time updates) 80Euro.
Stanley knife, A Fiver !

Why the fuck would anybody need a sat nav clogging up their windas when modern phone has Google maps?
Mr. T-bag to you

I cannot understand that either. Phone holder attached to windscreen with iPhone7 attached right next to a sat nav attached to the windscreen. Might as well chuck up a Dublin Maps book on the dash aswell, just to be sure to be sure to be sure

sat navs are easier to follow but phones usually know more places than the sat navs, e.g businesses

Haven't used a satnav since I got my first smartphone. These days Google Maps is all you should need but you can download others such as Sygic or Garmin to run on your clever telephone.
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

Firstly I dislike Google maps with a passion.
Secondly I love my Garmin Sat Nav.

Also I am not the best at Phone IT stuff.
My Garmin sits quietly in the very bottom Right hand corner of my windscreen,
the Iphone is in a vent holder (off-windscreen) just below it.
It's all very neat and works well fer me.

Only playing Devil's advocate, Octy....you do what it takes to survive...don't mind the do-gooders and the libertards. Just put up a sticker in the car warning about cctv being in operation.
