Looks like Stanton and Volanthen are leading the rescue.
That would seem to be the case, great news so far, but with the Monsoon rain after starting,
it's a race against time now, fingers, toes, eyes and ears crossed ! God speed.

(The yanks are there now along with their unflappable ability to fuck up a two piece jig saw puzzle.)

Thankfully the Thai government have not allowed the yanks any access to the dive area,
which ups my hopes.  Rick Stanton seems to be the Man in charge, God bless him and the boyz.

I never met Stanton but have met plenty of top level divers from U.K. who hold him in very high regard. The 3 Brits are possibly the best confined space cavers/cave divers on the planet. The Yanks have cave divers too, if you consider  that the caves they dive are huge underground car parks with small (2m-3m)  restrictions. These guys are Tunnel Rats compared to the Yanks.

Here`s an example of the U.S. cave diving. Spectacular dives but on a difficulty level so much less than the lads do.

Cheers Bubba, your posts are awesome in detail, thanks fer that.

As fer "Tunnel Rats", if'n I was stuck in that cave, then it's a 'Tunnel Rat' that I want
to see coming and Not some pox yank with a nuclear war-head over his shoulder.

The media have their heads up their holes with the reporting.  There`s probably 6-10 portable compressors on site. Most will probably fill 2 tanks at a go, i.e. 2 fill whips (hoses). A 12 ltr tank takes about 10 -15 mins to fill properly. So with 10 comps (with 2 fill hoses) they can fill 20 tanks every 15 mins. Allowing time to to disconnect full and connect empties, add 5 mins to that, so 20 mins for 20 tanks.  I hour for 60 tanks, 5 hours for 300 tanks. The divers also have to stay out of the water for a specific time to decompress nitrogen from their blood. The required time is calculated by using computerised dive tables or US Navy dive tables / British Sub Aqua Club dive tables (both come in hard copy).
There will be divers ready to place drop tanks before the rescue divers head in to the boys again. The lads will have learned a huge amount on the first rescue. They`ll know if more tanks are needed (I don`t know how many they have,300 is just a guess) and will have refined the extraction plan further. Don`t be surprised if they get the remaining 9 out today .

Fukkin muppets. CNN had a couple of good experienced pax on, Christine Dennison knew what she was talking about and the head guy from NACD also. I`m just posting info here to give an insight into the whole operation and what`s involved. Running very smoothly atm. Hats off to the military letting the lads run the show.
