Are those the 12L tanks that you spoke of before Bubba ?
How long would 1 tank last a diver ?
There`s a lot of variables.  A 12ltr tank filled to 200 bar will contain 2,400 ltrs of air. At 10m depth, it becomes 1,200 ltrs ( double the pressure/halve the volume).  If tidal breathing volume of a diver is 30 ltr p m , so a 12 ltr @ 10m would give 40 mins . Work rate, depth, experience, calmness all come into play.

Details emerging , divers doing the actual rescue were assembled by choice. Entire plan formulated by this small group. Highly experienced cave divers were in the relay to pass on kids to military support. If Stanton / Volanthen  are interviewed they`ll just call it a team effort. I`d be surprised if either give interviews. The two lads were involved in recovering the body of a Polish diver living here, Artur Kozlowski, from a cave system in Galway in 2011.
Well done !

The limerick stuff was that they needed some older regulators or something and someone in limerick had them

The regs had A clamps afaik. I think standard fitting these days are DIN .
Din on left, A clamp on right.

Jim Warny from Ennis brought them out Friday . He`s a rescue diver with ICRO and on the BCRC database of experienced cave rescue candidates. Possible the regs might have been pin index O2 regs ,but I doubt it.

Here`s the scary bit, a few hundred euro of diving gear helping you breathe underwater depends entirely on a 50 cent o-ring staying intact.

It was a global group effort, everyone from the foreign cave diving experts to the Thai navy seals and hospital staff and many more from all over the planet (to include Limerick) who helped and all those at home who kept them in their prayers. Well Done !
