I think the little tank gas tank goes where the spare wheel is...

S class a rough guess is about 100 miles/160km for a tenner. That's more than I drive most days. Computer says anything between 52 to 58 mpg depending on outside temperatures etc..It gets the same on the motorway. My old 1.6 petrol Primera was getting 30mpg. So changing cars was a 50% saving in fuel less the diesel headaches. That was 5 years ago now.The car cost me 6k so it paid for itself in year 3 even though I'm a lazy git.

9 years ago when I started petrol was €1.30 a liter.I remember when it used to be 80 pence in old money a liter maybe 20 years ago.It hasn't really gone up that much since.

You've done the best you can by drving an efficient vehicle.LPG is extra complexity to save a little money. My biggest problem now is I've very little to write off against my app work.. in my eh tax return.Good complaint I suppose. My income to fuel used ratio is very different to recession times so extra savings are not a high priority.Although maybe I'm just better at robbing now...

Ahh, the good old days. I remember diesel being under 50c/litre (or was it 50p?) - believe it on not that junkie infested Statoil on the south quays was once the cheapest place for fuel in Dublin.

Its down to your mileage scooter.  With the prius averaging 52mpg (5.4L/100km) you will save around 600 merkels per year for around 30,000km annual mileage. If the installation cost of LPG is 1200 it will be 2 years before it pays for itself. Now if you are doing 60k km annually then it could be worth it. But for my own mileage, i would rather keep me spare wheel.

I found this website below to be most accurate in calculating savings, too many 'fake' ones around.

Contact your insurance company BEFORE doing any conversion, just in case. Seen a thread on boards (albeit 6 yrs old) of AXA cancelling insurance over LPG conversion.

So Sore is saying
5.4L petrol for 100 KM
At €1.50 per litre  = € 8.25 for 100 km

^^^^^if you convert 52 mpg to liters per 100km you get 4.52 liters per 100km or something.

Which works out as €1.50x4.52=€6.78 per 100km I think eh..

Why bother talking about miles or gallon's.
We're in kilometres and litres
Anyway
I'm getting different reports on the fuel economy of a petrol Prius
Let's start again.
How many KM for €10.
160 km     or
100km

I'm guessing approximately 160km per tenner. My heap is old and originally a UK import so that's why the trip computer is still using MPG.

Best move I've made.
Averaging 4.1 per 100kms.
165 Euro in fuel in little over a month.
The Avensis diesel was 100-110 A week.
The ones criticising the PRIUS are probably only riding a clutch!! 8)

Indeed SB....i'm a 12yr veteran of the Prius(Gen 2 for 9yrs and current Gen 3)...i've taken some stick on here over the years...cried myself to sleep on loads of occasions cos of the sexual slurs of a homophobic nature....i even had to ride the missus a few times to reassure myself of my testosterone filled masculinity and heterosexuality!!
