I asked my folks over 20 years ago why is Jesus’s death on a different day every year yet my grandmother (RIP) was on the same day every year they couldn’t answer it so that was my catalyst to being a non believer in religion.

As regards, modern da christening, communions, confirmations and getting married in a church, it’s mostly to do with tradition, respect for the grandparents, and to get a child into schoool(although this has now been banned)

Jesus' death is tied in with the Jewish Passover which is the first full moon after the vernal equinox....and there was an entirely different calendar back then...and the church just copied and pasted every Pagan festival...Saturnalia, being the biggest one. Not to me. Hal...just to so many others. When I discuss a topic Hal...I'm not being subjective....that's just your train of thought. Anyway, every shrink, if asked, will till you marriage is the most ludicrously biased contract any male could ever enter into. When the dice are loaded, only a fool plays the game. I'm just applying the same logic to marriage, that Bob Shillin' did, when he mentioned "critical thinking" being suspended. I was never married. People seem to think they're obliged to repeat everything their parents did just because it's what's perceived to be the done thing.....lack of logical reasoning.
