Coolock Gardai are less use than a chocolate fireguard... unless you need someone to eat a chocolate fireguard, assuming you are prepared to donate said chocolate fireguard FOC of course.
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

I firmly believe social media has a lot to answer for when it comes to mental health issues amongst young people.

A lot of kids are bombarded with images of perfect lives on television, Facebook, perfect bodies on instacunt and what not. It leads them to thinking that it's a realistic and attainable goal in life when it simply doesn't exist in the real world. I've never met a perfect person nor would I like to.

Kids these days and some parents I suppose can't accept that they or their kids are just average and that it's ok to be just average. A lot of pressure placed on chiddlers these days really.

100 percent correct. However, who told them it would be easy? In fairness, Wankovitch, I went to a kip of a secondary school, and had to sit through teachers switching off, tuning out and more often than not, watch them riding the religion teacher in the car at lunch......and the kids today have everything on their exam paper...poems, prose and maths equations. Yrs ago...you either had them learned off or you were fucked...Not saying I ever amounted to anything, aside from being a qualified Chef, but my perception of the world was real....they expect it all to be handed to them...not fucking real at all. No....you have to stop excusing their collective idiocy...I'm voting FG next time.

Fair play DM.

Today’s world is chang8ng and folk cannot change quick enough to keep up.

As The Erm said, men’s role has changed, women’s roles have changed. Families aren’t what they used to be. Folk don’t stay together if things arent working out.

It’s fucking tough and I’m probably 2 generations behind a lot of you folk. I fear everyday for my children growing up in this fucked up world. What with social media, online bullying etc etc etc.

My missus is the bread winner and I have no problem with that but I think she actually does, although if I worked harder and longer I probably could earn just as much as her but I don’t need to or have a want to either, which in turn leads to a shortage of taxis in the city but I don’t give a damn,

Anyways back to the topic on hand, well done(again) DM, but you certainly do get some amount of weirdos in your taxi don’t ya

Well done Daly, you may have saved his life.

I fully agree with Wankovich and Lippy on the role of social media and internet. In my time you get bullied in the school yard,
but now you can be bullied in your own bedroom. I mean, you can gamble from your own bedroom, what madness. Kids as
young as 6 are glued to their tablets all day long. Families no longer spend quality time together as everyone is on social media.
In my time if i had an issue, i would talk to an elder for advice, these days you just google it.

Unless ME (mental health education) is introduced in schools from senior infants onwards, a calamity will face the young of the
future. It is terrifying what i read these days. A 12 year old girl killed herself recently because she did not like how she looked.
It is a fucked up world.

2 generations? When are you due? Most here are under 50, I'd say or slightly over it.

Part of it has to be that no-one is allowed express themselves anymore. Open your mouth and the swarm lands slowly stinging you to death for having an opinion....technology is responsible for closing people's minds down. Critical thinking is not as alive and well as they'd let us believe.
