It can't be as shit as being on the dole and only eligible for 40 quid a week, even though your wife earns below the average wage.
It does beg the question though, why the fuck aren't you out there filling your boots,in preparation for the next recession if you know how bad it was?

I'm relatively comfortable and probably was before I drove a taxi.If I decide to stay in the industry I'll need to upgrade the car in the next few years.Other than that I've no need to stress too much.

Like others I just get what I need then feck off.The only times I work extra hours or start early is when my tax bill and insurance is due. When you've gotten used to living on shit money there's no appetite for more hours.

Just to be clear I'm making a bit more but it's all going towards the increased insurance costs and the extra expense of complying with the ten year rule.So no significant gains except less hours.

Always amazes me that lads dont take all the hours they work into consideration when working out how much they earn .60 hours in a taxi is equalto two weeks work in a Paye job .Then include you get paid for bank holidays and holidays ,a lot of lads dont realize we are only on minimum wage with no security after deductions and costs .Im in the same boat as Merc just get what I need out of it .When I started this  game an old timer told me when you stary you will love it money in your pocket every day unlike working a job where you only get paid on friday but that will wear off and you will learn to hate it .He was right .

Must watch Clem. I thought the Aswad drummer was out of place in an otherwise excellent episode.  I`ve a couple of mates ,bothers, who were taught by their old man who drummed with showbands and jazz players.  2 brilliant drummers, always serve the song.

My drum tutor was(the late) Jon Murray...used to own the Dublin Drum Centre on the corner of Grantham St and Camden...he was a drummer with the Big Bands back in the day...if i was half the drummer he was...i'd be a happy chap.

Ah, " a guy who hangs around with musicians".

Just kidding, great respect for drummers, would like to have a go some day, can't beat a tune with good sticks.
Trump has called for help, so I'm on a plane heading for The Strait of Hormuz, talk soon.

In the Clem Burke doc.....he said at one stage...."let's clear that up!!"...
I'm sure if you said that to Dave Grohl from Foo Fighters... ex Nirvana drummer...he might say the same.

The 2 lads are Eddie & Philip Gaynor Hal, Drimnagh lads. Their dad would have known Jon too.
