I continued to go to Jon privately after the shop went,he lived  in Fortfield Tce in Rathmines,i was playing in bands at that stage but i enjoyed playing the jazz that he was into and it was something different than playing rock/pop,
The chap i bought my Premier drums off went to Johnny Wadham,he played in a band called Montage at the time.

I thought it was a red sky at night...farmers delight
Red sky in the morning...sailors warning?

The nearest I ever got to drums was, when we were kids,we used to wait outside the various dance halls to carry  in the gear for all the different showbands.they used to pay us with black and white photos of the band. An odd time,if you were really lucky, you might get a colour picture

I did bubba...always annoyed/amazed me..particularly back in the 80's how many drummers in bands never stopped fukin doin 16th note drum rolls around the kit!!...christ on a bike!!

Always loved playing along to Ringo Starr and Charlie Watts, nothing flamboyant but always tasty and always sat well in their songs....i do like Larry Mullens style,i think he'd admit to being not the best technically gifted drummer but his offbeats on snare and toms are good to listen to and fit well with what U2 do.

Johnny Wadham lived out my way, drank in my local until he got sick and left us.
Trump has called for help, so I'm on a plane heading for The Strait of Hormuz, talk soon.

Im an auld fella meself, but I think Noel used to play with a band called skidrow. I may well be wrong about that, because at that time all I was listening to was Luke  Kelly etc etc

Indeed...Skid Row.....Brush Shiels,Phil Lynott and quite a few other esteemed musicians including Noel....he played with The Waterboys aswell at one stage, cos i saw them in the Olympia circa 89.
