Replacing your Partworn WAT
« on: September 23, 2018, 11:59:19 am »
Just wondering when all these new entrants with their part worn Wheelchair taxies need to renew them ,If brexit  happens the British Government will cut the fuck out of all sorts of grants in the UK to balance the budget so the stream of part worn Wheelies might dry up .Not nice to be looking down the barrel of a 40K replacement vehicle in 5 or 6 years .

Just stay in your low-cost shitheap,
A good example how the 10 year rule improved the fleet.

One or two clever lads jumped out of Wheelies and got saloon plates before the non transfer as they knew replacing the old wheelie with another A1 class wheelie was going to be expensive .The taxithingey loosened the standard to the Peugeot Partner and lesser safety standards for invalid transport .Effectively they reduced the standard to allow a domestic WAT be used for industrial taxi work with little or no regard for the safety of invalid passengers .Be interesting when the drivers who grabbed the grants to purchase part worn Wheelies realize the cost of replacing their worn out wheelie could be 40K .I wonder how many new entrants have considered if there will be cheap replacement Wheelies available in future .At present in the UK you can get a wheelie grant every 4 years to replace your vehicle but with Brexit the local councils will need to slash and burn all grants add in if the UK are outside the EU then WTO tarriffs will apply to imported vehicles into the UK pushing up the retail price of cars in Britain making the used cars more expensive and possibly rarer .Then there is another question as a WAT will be a commercial vehicle will Ireland have to impose tarriffs under WTO rules on these vehicles coming into Ireland on top of VRT and possibly VAT for commercial purposes .Lads who ran to Fitzwilliam Square to jump into Wheelies might get a right kick in the bollox at renewal time . lol lol lol
