Sure you only work two hours per week John,

We're talking total liability here inclusive of PRSI which as vandriver points out is €500.

Setting up a Direct debit with Revenue takes the pressure off,
Also eliminate preliminary tax.
ah yeah, do suttim similar. Have revenue set up as a bill through online banking. I throw a few quid in every month to take the sting outta the final payment.

Prsi is AT LEAST €500.
On incomes over 12.5 k,it's 4%.

On €20,000 declared income ,without using spouses tax credits
Tax 1,200
Prsi 800
USC 237
Total €2,237

Even with my renter's huge overheads, that's only €800 a week of gross takings.
I think some of you lads might be in for a bit of a shock if you are audited.

So how many days is full time
And how hours is full time,
I know for a fact lads are working 12 / 14 hours shifts,
How does the Revenue know what hours are you doing.

When you're new ye tend to do mad hours thinking that it's great anall.. eventually the cunts burn you out. There's only so much shite a man can listen to. 12 years a slave this year and I've turned into something the opposite of what I was when I started.. no better or worse, just wiser. All said I still enjoy it. No job is plain sailing, they all have their pitfalls.

Oh Thanks Hal fer hanging me out to de Taxman !

Like Gerry and John posted, after almost Ten years in the game the romance is starting to wear off, this was defo my worst year ever in the Taxi game, I didn't work the Snow in March fer fear of losing the NCB on my insurance and as an ex-ginger I did Fook all during the summer heatwave cos the heat was just killing me and the end result was that when Mr Taxman, Mr Insurance man, service, tyres, NCT, Suitability and Motor tax were all due at about year end I was short 3K of the 4.5K bill, luckily I did have savings to draw upon but that needs to be repaid, looking forward to a hopefully Bumper last Quarter !

would you not just turn the air conditioning on during the very hot days belker? i don't even have air conditioning and i was able to work away no problem during the heat wave.

As regards the accountant v bookkeeper issue, i think i will go with the accountant, you may pay 100 euro to a bookkeeper but the accountant could save you more in the long run.

I need to set up a foreign bank accounts or one of them offshore vehicle things I hear the suits talking about..

If I can't I'm gonna be cutting my ties with the app work.No other way around it.

It seems counterproductive that the more efficient we make our business the more tax we're paying.Loadabollix..

The only reason we know how much a trummer is worth because Belker told us..
