Prsi is AT LEAST €500.
On incomes over 12.5 k,it's 4%.

Zero if your profit is below €5,000.50
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

Here Vandriver serious question...if ya owned yer own heap and plate and had a 1600 insurance policy(like me) would ya still be working like a mad thing and would ya be happy covering every last app job even though a significant portion of your income would be in the higher tax bracket?.Would the hunger dissipate after yer first big tax bill.I think mine would.
Id say I work more hours than most of you,but probably not as many as some of you think.
If my expenses were say two ton instead of four,I would probably work less,,but not by much.

What is this preliminary tax you speak of

Paying next years tax on the basis of the current year liability,ye don't have to pay the full amount..if for instance ye might know that you'll be writing off an amount..ie: car loan etc.

Rate is 90% of actual liability or 100% of preceding year's liability. With proper tax planning your accounts will be drawn up before the previous year's return is submitted.

I believe even on less than 5k you can make a voluntary contribution to keep up your state pension entitlements.

Considering the current Govt is planning to bring in compulsory pension schemes, I'd say the Govt is in the same boat.  ::fds

I reckon anyone under 50 can forget about the State pension (in any form).
Getting old is compulsory whilst growing up is voluntary.

They squandered the NPRF and now have no rainy day fund.

They have a bank bailout fund though... just to silence doubts about their capacity to learn from mistakes.
