I take that as a no so.I wonder if you kept to 80km/hr as a maximum, promoting it as a green option, could you make more money? 1. you would save on fuel. 2. you would save on wear n tear on all parts of the car. 3. Sure don't you get paid for your time so would you lose much? lIs it worth trying as an experiment? Just thought. Don't be giving mean replies, I'm a sensitive soul.
@ Jane (probably a journalist), I'm a Cork Taxi driver and I have done a few trips to Dublin, I have tried to find my destination in Dublin from off the motorway and adhering to the 100km speed limit, but the amount of cars whizzing past me on both the outside and inside is frightening, if'n I attempted to stay at 80kmph then most likely I would be blown off the road.

A lot of mechanical design and safety technology has gone into new modern cars,
Some of the speed limit on a road are antiquated,
 they need to be upgraded,
One of the most ridiculous is the N11,
 60 km is 40 mph,
 It's a duel carriageway FFS,
100KM on the M50 from Leopardstown to the M1 after it was upgraded to three lanes
It's a European three lane motorway which is normally 120km,
Which I don't think is excessive speed on a motorway, it should be upgraded to 140 km on the fast lane,
Can't use cruise control because of incompetent arseholes driving at 50 km in the in overtaking Lane.
Now we just don't know what that brain fart idiot Ross is going to come up with next.
Maybe autobahn rofl,

Maybe some of those limits are to keep the noise down for the residents. It's cheaper to lower the limits than engineer noise control solutions.

140 kilos/hour is crazy. Why on earth would you want to travel at that speed? We've only a small country, relax and take your time. There's certainly a good case for lowering speed limits in built up areas but there's no point when there's no enforcement. Only last week I drove down O'Connell Street at the maximum permissible speed of 30 kilos/hour and was passed by no fewer that 8 speeding taxis - and that's on the main street of our capital city. In this day and age one ought not be able to drive more than a furlong without encountering a static speed camera.
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

A jumbo jet engine uses 1 litre per/sec
Multiply by 4 by 3600
=14400 litres per hour Multiply by 23 to Melbourne = 331200 litres
Multiply by. 40 cents cost per liter =

€132480 total cost to fly to Melbourne from Dublin
Divided 500 passengers = 265 euro /per passenger cost of fuel each.....
.
Sorry me telly is bollixed again am me adhd is gone into warp drive..... Time for a nap  ::sleep

Normal people are subsidising morbidly obese people when flying.

People with abnormal BMI's are getting away with murder .

And how long would that journey take??

€600 odd quid for a flight and you’ll be there in 16 hours
