Every Town and Village in Cork has what is affectionately known as a 'Calcutta Cabs' man, I would hope that they do have insurance but they definitely don't hold a PSV licence. They work the fare off the Top of their head which is usually about 50% of the standard Taxi rate. I don't see them as any threat to us, they bring them in to town because no way are any of us going out in to the Boonies to collect a fare who just might cancel to bring them in to town, but then when 'Mr Calcutta man' has gone off to the pub or bed, we get to bring them home at full fare. If'n 'Mr Calcutta man' was taken out of the equation then most likely the Muck savages would stay closer to home and stagger off to their local pub.
