Have 3 at the moment myself... top up by €20/month and they give me €10 free credit. Don't like it, coverage is not as good as Tesco so I'll switch back to Tesco when my free credit deal expires... that's €15/month.

3 can be dodgy outside the main drag.

I don't know is the honest answer. A few years back I tested several networks and found they all generally share the same blackspots, generally on motorways and out in the sticks in my experience. However, since I switched to Three I see the no internet banner on the mytaxi app far more frequently than was the case when I was with Tesco. In fact, it was extremely rare on Tesco but is a nightly occurrence on Three. Maybe it's down to network saturation i.e. the O2/Three resources allocated to the Three network may be a lot closer to capacity than the O2/Three resources allocated to Liffey Telecom/Tesco?

Seems that Vodafone has the best coverage, although I have never used it, would like to but they never have good deals, always too dear or not enough data. I'm with Tesco on the personal phone and Virgin on the work phone, so both with 3 really, and both fail equally.
Trump has called for help, so I'm on a plane heading for The Strait of Hormuz, talk soon.

Both the not so young lads use Vodafone in the belief that it's the most reliable... but they have Student deals, a score each a month for everything I think. I have Vodafone for the house internet, since they launched Siro Gigabit it's streets ahead of the rest.

I have Vodafone for the main phone, and never a problem
I’ve had, 3, meteor, Virgin media, id mobile on the work phone and they all dropped data every so often.
The only time I noticed a massive change was when I used a Samsung Galgaxy S8 for a few weeks. That was on the 3 network.
Maybe the phone needs to be a decent phone to rn this apps efficiently

I don't think the phone is an issue. I used Chinese dual sim phones for years with no problems. Since I switched to Three I've been using a Samsung Galaxy Note 4, a cast off from the older not so young lad. Hard to imagine the Chinese phone would be superior to the Samsung... in fact the main differences are that the Samsung has a better camera and better WIFI reception. There's no difference in phone signal reception or mobile data reception. It could, of course, be simply down to the mytaxi app/servers deteriorating, perhaps on account of increased traffic.

Last night, for example, I had to force stop the app when it lost connection for a prolonged period during a €40 account job. I couldn't clear the job at the end of the fare as I had no connection so had to park up and fuck about (force stop) with the app after the customer was gone. Of course, that opens up the possibility of the rider cancelling the fare before it's processed... didn't happen on this occasion but it could happen!

Dunno but with no connection you can't get to the payment screen... they can certainly cancel before the payment screen loads and probably right up until you see the payment OK screen.

Get a decent Vodafone plan and an Iphone, granted they cost a bit more,
but at least no more hours of trying to save a score here and there on cheaper phones and plans,
ya get what ya pay fer, the Fookin thing works all the time !

What ya make up with the cheaper phones and plans is most likely lost in the amount of time
it took you to find them, then add on all the missed coverage (fares) ??

No shortage of fares on mytaxi up above in Dublin, Ken. My freight is rarely under €3/hour... it's less work I want from them, not more. I doubt Vodafone would fix mytaxi's server issues. I should have mentioned during the lost connection on the €40 account job there was no issue at my end i.e. the internet browser was working fine.
