McLoughlin's is the name of the Garage, not the milk... dunno what that's called, yet. To be completely honest the garage is actually the Sail In but it was bought by McLoughlin's - who own another garage a couple of hundred yards up the road, McLoughlin's Mace - so nowadays both are colloquially referred to as McLoughlin's.

You need a fukin hobby RC....or build that bleedin shed!!

I'll be back to the landscaping when the weather picks up a bit... not sure if I'll get as far as building the shed this year though, it's hard to find the motivation to do any of it when you're just not green fingered.

I wouldn't think so, the McLoughlins have been in town for a long time. Rumoured to have turned down serious notes from Applegreen who have them surrounded with sites in Balrothery, Julianstown and Millfield, not to mention the M1 service stations.... if anyone gets it off them, I'd say Applegreen will.

I remember before they owned the Sail In, it was an old fashioned filling station with a mechanic on duty sign and a workshop where the "convenience store" is now... called in when I wasn't long living here and asked the boss if he could investigate a rattle in my motor... can you come back this afternoon and I'll see if I have a ramp free, says he, clearly taking the piss as he had one fucking "ramp" and there was no car on it... then asks me where I buy my diesel and complains that there's no loyalty from customers anymore when I tell him I shop around... I think his was at least 5p dearer than the next dearest around!

You could walk to Gormanston back then without seeing a Feargal Sharkey.

Most of the blacks are grand, they tend to make an effort to contribute to the community despite being in a pretty small minority.

Grand..I wish him every success in his unbiased endeavours. John M was the only man for that job, in my opinion.

Got the milk from McLoughlin's and it's good news, very good news. It carries the brand Dairyland Cuisine and is produced up above in Dublin, West Dublin in fact, Tallaght to be precise. The oval panel says"IE See Code Panel EC" so, seemingly, it's 100% Irish... and not in the Mick McCarthy 'undred percent Oirish sense.

It's good milk and not overpriced, under €2 for 2 litres.... could be my first choice after Brexit, will have to see what Strathroy/Lidl do... I'll probably be in Tesco tomorrow so I'll report back on theirs in due course.
