Not on the lid of the ones I get from Tesco and Lidl yet those labels are easily removed. The see code panel on the McLoughlin's one gave me the impression that their supplier takes a flexible approach... perhaps Glanbia use different plants for it's cheap brands depending on capacity or whatever. By stamping the cap they don't need to print different labels for different plants?

... or maybe it's just the way Glanbia do it. Obviously it's main Avonmore brand is produced in different plants around the country so it probably makes sense from a cost perspective to use the same labels across all plants and stamp the caps to differentiate as required.

Yeah it would appear that way. Main reason I buy the Tetra Pak is because milk doesn’t like the light(so I was told years and years ago)

Yeah Vik , I think Milk takes after the "White Milk Bottled" Irish people who don't like the sun

Years ago we used to have fresh milk delivered to our doorsteps every day. Whatever they do to it these days it seems to last at least a week, even in the plastic containers. It was always pasteurised (at least in my lifetime) so I'm guessing it's the homogenisation process that has extended the shelf life. Having said that, milk floats weren't refrigerated in the good old days and the bottles were clear glass so probably more susceptible to light and apart from the big supermarkets it wasn't generally refrigerated in shops, just stacked in plastic crates.

Magpies.. they were actually attracted to the bottle tops, not the cream.

We used the bottle tops on string to stop birds flying down for the new grass seed.
