Gocars are putting another 400 on the road this year.Bloke was telling me they pay a million a year to the corpo for free parking on the 600 vehicles they have currently. The new ones that you don't need to bring back to the pick up points will get much more widely used.

This should be widely welcomed as it fits in with the drive to eliminate private cars from the major cities. There are 2 ways at least of examining it...........it might coincide with the alleged conspiracy of the dumbing down of the taxi test and it appeases certain elements claiming we're entirely responsible for toxic pollutants in China etc. Personally, I see it as a good thing in general terms despite the need for more taxis if it becomes a roaring success.

Offers a vast improvement on the current Go Car service... a real step in shifting consumer focus from car ownership to car utilisation.
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

I see the whole transaction including the starting button is governed by an App.........what with the Irish penchant for drinking and driving will it have co2 dependent sensors to detect ethanol/alcohol in the air, or will the driver have to be breathalysed by a machine beforehand?
