A Dublin mother has told of her outrage after a taxi carrying her son and his mates crashed into a parked van, before speeding away leaving the lads with injuries behind.

The incident took place between 3:30am and 3:50am on Friday on Turret Road, near Palmerstown.

Mother of one of the young men Janice Kelly told of the shocking incident where her son Luke sustained head, leg, and ankle injuries.  Taking to Facebook, she said she is "absolutely fuming" after the driver left the injured men standing roadside while an innocent van owner will now be stuck footing the bill or be forced to claim from his own insurance. 

She said: "My son Luke and two friends got a taxi home tonight from town by a driver in a grey taxi at the edge of O'Connell street on McDonald's side after their night out.  "All the boys are in shock as the driver was driving them home on Turret Road in Palmerstown when he crashed into a white parked van. All three were injured and in shock, my son injured his head, leg, ankle, and has cuts on him.  "When it happened the boys got out but the driver SPED OFF and just left them there.

His car was also damaged and had only three wheels to drive on.  "How the hell can anyone just leave the scene and not check if the boys were OK!! Ive now to bring my son to the hospital because of his injuries at the hands of an incompetent driver who needs to be caught!!  "He drove towards Ballyfermot after the accident.

I will not rest till this man is caught and his licence is taken off him. As it could be your son next!  "Absolute low life to leave the scene of an accident and leaving the boys there injured. I will be contacting the Taxi Federation etc. But if anyone seen anything please get in touch, as not just me but the other parents will not rest till he is caught!!  Anyone with CCTV such as business owners or home owners if you can check for a grey taxi with damage to it and a burst tyre, get in touch please, as this is sickening... and I'm lucky that my son & the boys are OK as it could have been a whole lot worse."

Speaking to Dublin Live, Janice said they believe it was a wheelchair accessible grey taxi and appealed to anyone with any information to contact Ballyfermot Garda Station.

A grey wheelchair taxi leaving the scene of an accident at 4am. He is bound to be picked up on CCTV somewhere along the route, it won't be long till he's getting a knock on the door and a nice fat personal injusries claim.

I read this yesterday. Unfuckingbelieveable, also her other kid fell on the travellator and it got money too. Was probably the born kid fell in front of the travellator causing the trolley to stop and her bump to hit into the trolley.
I’m sure pregnant woman hit their bumps off a thing or two while pregnant

West Dublin again. I doubt there's a whole lot wrong with the passengers but that won't stop them claiming. I'm not going to ask if the driver is an immigrant as I know he is. Not many of them immigrants in the Fed so Heron will be less than useless... although, to be fair, he's got a lot of experience when it comes to being less than useless.

Do you believe it ?If a fly landed on a shit somebody on Facebook or instagramwould of filmed it but a three wheeled taxi goes un noticed not one picture .Another made up story somebody looking for Facebook likes .I also wonder about the lad from Iceland that has allegedly gone missing bet he is an internet sensation back home .
