The Committee can also decide whether a quote is so high or the terms so excessive as to make the quote tantamount to a refusal, in which case it will review the matter.

this is how I imagine the Committee reviewing such matters.

No offence but unless you worked for less than a tenner an hour during the recession you have no idea what you are asking for. When I say a tenner an hour that's the average over the day. Some days you'd take 30 quid between 8am and 1pm.No exaggeration, and I knew where the work was but there were just too many other taxi lads doing the exact same thing.

6 months before i started in the game in 2016, i got a quote of 1,700 TPFT and 2,500 fully comp, from Brian J pearse through liberty, 6 months later BJP told me i would be lucky to pay under 10,000 euro. i had been driving 13 years with a clean licence and no points.

Pray that insurance doesn't go so low again.Low insurance means more drivers.According to everyone on here who never sat the taxi test it's really easy.

Well if its far from easy,id love to know how our African, eastern European, and Indian friends are passing it,considering some of them cannot even speak English there's no doubt in my mind,it all comes back to the immigrant council of Ireland which the politicians ate afraid of their shite of

Don't like the name "Immigrant council of Ireland" , conjures up vision that their is actually a council full of immigrants.

Better off calling it "The Dirty hungry Bastards from overseas Council"

The fact is,loads of them ARE immigrants on that council.politicians know if they say ANYTHING derogatory about immigrants, they are putting their careers on the line.an example would be the mayor of naas a few years back simply said he didnt like having to deal with Nigerians as he found them to be a little bit aggressive. Within 5 days the man had to resign, the bleeding hearts brigade were all over him like a rah,and supported by the immigrant council of Ireland

May have said before, I don't think we will ever hear of immigrant being done for "Racism against an Irish Person"

God , our parents would turn in their graves if they knew what is happening to our country

How would the 15km from the village of a population od less than 1,000 people work? They will be picking people up in most large towns and cities. Stupid idea. It wont happen.

That sort of wording is too ambiguous and in reality if such a practice is allowed it can and will never be policed...not even properly...never!!

And excluding the elderly who might use the service.....who's gonna drive these drunk people who may possibly be over the limit the next morning to work?

Sort of reminds me of the euromillions ad where Donal(who bought the island for Ireland) says...."ah sure...we'll figure it out!!"

They'll all end up working for mytaxi, covering your work at discount rates.
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.
