The fact is,loads of them ARE immigrants on that council.politicians know if they say ANYTHING derogatory about immigrants, they are putting their careers on the line.an example would be the mayor of naas a few years back simply said he didnt like having to deal with Nigerians as he found them to be a little bit aggressive. Within 5 days the man had to resign, the bleeding hearts brigade were all over him like a rah,and supported by the immigrant council of Ireland

The old 11 bus route from Wadelai to Kilmacud used to stop on Apian Way there near Leeson Park(Embassy). I remember getting it back into town from having been up at The Gem motorcycle place leaving me bike in for a service. The driver was shocked as I flagged him down on Apian.........."Sorry pal, been a while since I had a whitey stop me on this road." That was back in the early noughties. "Won't be long before he's driving this bus mate", says I.

Watched this on Tv this morning .Jim Waldron done well .Looks like the NTA are willing to pay ALL the insurance on a monthly basis for approved drivers .Sounds like a bit of a pole pulling exercize .Yer one from transport said some other rural transport inishitives had a low uptake sounds like they are trying to flog a service nobody wants or needs .As I suspected all along this is more about moving school kids shutins and pensioners that young or old people who already possess good drunk driving skills .

Could the NTA be playing cute with this initiative?  Maybe they're playing the long game to keep Uber/rideshare out of Ireland.  If rideshare comes in, it'll be a huge increase in workload for them for little financial reward.  20,000 taxi drivers is manageable whereas 200,000 people driving their mammy's Corolla for profit is the stuff of nightmares!

Spending 100-300k on insurance for some country bumpkins to prove it's a stupid idea could be just 'sleight of hand' on their part?  Pretending to be interested but just kicking the can down the road?  Uber can't get a look-in while this trial is ongoing.
Getting old is compulsory whilst growing up is voluntary.

Insured...until there's a claim from a Drunk or the piss and Vicks brigade.
Can these people operate without licences for hire or reward?

I'd say NTA will leave regulation of rideshare to mytaxi et al if/when it is introduced.
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

Sometimes I dont know if you lot are serious about rideshare or not ? Are you seriously telling me that if the NTA agreed to rideshare you would just roll over and die ?- what kind of fukking men are you  at all ? Although thats a stupid question ,you have already shown what kind of menmoney you are when you roll overand take shite from your EMPLOYERS ,Kearns,Kelly, and Ebbs.taxi drivers have no balls this has been proven time, and time, again.I would hate to be relying on support from taxi drivers if I was ever in trouble

Half of us (not me) have our cars plastered with advertisements for mytaxi, the firm that states it's primary objective as to enhance "the public transit system in your city with a dynamic flexible ridesharing solution". (https://www.moovel.com/en)
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

Its like asking turkeys to vote for Christmas rat.the drivers are more rhen willing to give up their right to operate independently, and because of their willingness,in the event of time, they will also give up MY  right to operate independently.the upshot of all this will be, that it will become compulsory to align

Divide and conquer...
