Had a lady in the car today from the FF love in at City West .She was asking about UK Imports .She said the Germans are lobbying the Government to ban the import of Used Diesels that dont meet the Euro 6 standard .She said the Germans are not meeting their Quota of new car sales in Ireland due to used imports .She asked if I had noticed a lot of press coverage about environment damage caused by used diesel imports .She recons IF Brexit goes ahead then UK Imports might be liable for import duty as well as VRT to reduce imports .

Merc main dealers in UK have been told for a while not to export nearly news to Ireland.

I wonder are the German Government also lobbying for Daimler /BMW rideshare in Ireland ,is this why Ross is asking the children into his committee .

Just to add to Bobs post I picked up a customer from to MSL and they're not ordering in any new stock unless they're definitely gonna be sold.

The lady was up from Cork just to see a new model that none of the other dealers had on the floor.Something about uncertainty over diesel taxes.

FF policy is any carbon tax should be reinvested in grants FG just want to grab more tax .Big difference between our own Mung Bean eating sandal wearing tree hugging hippies looking to ban Diesel and the Germans telling the Government what to do .Just looking at the difference in price between Diesel and Petrol it use to be about 10c its now only about 3 c .Thing about the Germans is they make few hybrid cars or Petrol any more .They seem to want to ban the sale of old diesels not new ones .

Although some of the new VW range of leccy cars due out next year look great.I'm sure threy'll do well once they start banging them out.They'll get the money they lost on diesels back when the leccy car batteries start failing after 5 years.

With the 9 year rule used Mercs are to expensive to taxi .What options do we really have .Scoda .Prius Partner .The range of Hybrids is limited so are diesels .Im thinking cheap as chips 6 or seven year old petrol car cheaper to buy more expensive to run cheaper to maintain .If you are buying at the tail end of the market say hoping to get 3 years out of a car ,petrol might actually be cheaper than Diesel if you take everything into consideration .

I deffo won't be getting in to debt when i change my current jammer in Feb 21.....if it means buying a 4 or 5 yr old Prius again with my 14 or 15 k so be it.

im thinking 7 year old get 3 years out of it pay about 3k .14 or 15 k is a lot to write off as used taxi has no real value costing you 3k a year .With all this rideshare crap and road restrictions and Emissions crap .I couldnt invest in a new car based on the hours I work .
