Not sure, Ken... we probably did, possibly dependent on weather. I do remember one occasion c.1975 that my uncle (a St. Lucian immigrant to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland) was over on vacation and was watching a game of cricket when the (ITV) service suddenly switched from HTV to UTV. As UTV weren't showing the cricket he was extremely perplexed as the system was explained to him - in those days the service was relayed by RTE Relays and that happened quite randomly with the weather being blamed. I'd say if we had remote controls back then he'd take some convincing that nobody had turned it over!

+1 Black Doves  ::clap

Red One - enjoyable 2hr movie if you're young at heart.  Santa gets kidnapped and Xmas might be cancelled if he's not found in time.  Step forward 'The Rock' as Chief E.L.F.  ;D

Netflix new
100 years of solitude……………best ever story.
https://www.netflix.com/title/81087583#:~:text=In%20the%20timeless%20town%20of,their%20past%20%E2%80%94%20and%20their%20fate.
I read the book about 20 years ago. also, I was reading "Love in the Time of Cholera when my mam passed away, they were together - like in the book - for 53 years. :'(

It gets a good write up in the Guardian  https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2024/dec/11/one-hundred-years-of-solitude-review-gabriel-garcia-marquez-netflix and Rotten tomatoes https://www.rottentomatoes.com/tv/one_hundred_years_of_solitude gave it 4.5 out of five. :2cheers

Don't be afraid to express your opinion, Hal. That's what fora rely upon! One man's shite is another man's manure. I finished Say Nothing last evening... it's probably about two episodes too long, IMO. While it's supposed to be about the disappeared it's more about the lives of the "crazy Prices"... but I knew that having read the buke, Kindle compatible version also available on Torrdroid.

I gotta agree with Hal, after 5 minutes you get to see the main charcters in the film, quiet easy to see whom are the Good guys and Whom are the Bad guys, and obviously after a nice few dramatics, you have to guess whom wins in the end ??
