I think a lot of people don't realise there is a 'tipping point'. It just doesn't get gradually worser and worser. Once we go past that tipping point, it's game over. One credible report I read said it was approx 2050 for the UK/Ireland. Greta says the earth (there in no Planet B) has about 8 years left.
And, for the 'no foreigners' brigade on here, where do you think Africans are gonna go when Africa becomes uninhabitable? So if nothing else, you can keep 'foreigners' out by solving climate change!

Kids these days don’t know what it is to play outside. I’m probably the last generation to have played “Outside”
Classrooms have interactive whiteboard with projectors, they all have WiFi, most kids have a phone and a tablet device. Tvs in their bedrooms.
If they want to make a change, turn off these devices, turn off the WiFi, walk to school instead of getting a lift from Mammy when you only live down the road.
One way to combat climate change would be for the government to reduce their tax take on stuff, lower prices would mean you don’t need to earn as much, which means both parents may not need to work, which means kids get to spend time with their parents, the parents wouldn’t have 2 cars sputtering and choking up the city with fumes and what not,
It would be just like the olden days. We didn’t have much but we didn’t need for more, we were happy with what we had and done with what we had.

This is my lovely Palm tree in the car park of my apartment block.
I have tended to it fer the past Ten years, the blocks in front of it act as a support after it was half blown down a few years back.
I watered it every night during the past 2 heatwaves and I was very fond of it.

In all fairness Ken he has a point, instead of putting two blocks at the base, you should have tried to straighten it, over time with wire attached to the wall.

I did think about that, the tree half fell during that very wet Christmas we had about 4/5 years ago and the blocks seemed to be doing an OK job of keeping it up. I didn't wish to interfere with nature and I was concerned that the wire (regardless of what absorbing restraints I put on it) may cut the bark, so I left it alone.

Yes do that. I had two of them for about 10 years, they were about 12 feet tall' but the cold winter of 09/10 killed them. :(

Sea levels are rising 2.7mm per year have been for millions of years, Obama bought a beach front mansion in Martha's vineyard a few years previously he said sea level rises would overcome new York,Florida and London etc, I haven't heard of banks refusing mortgages for homes in any of those places check out tony Heller, willy soon and a plethora of other scientists on their youtube channels and 31000 scientists have signed a petition in support that man isn't causing climate change. Main stream media are led and said. Scientists get millions in funding governments get extra taxes and companies make billions on wind turbines,solar panels and batteries etc. We are the losers. I feel i must point out that I'm merely trying to help a fellow forum member, as I did when said member posted pictures of himself with a bruised arm after drinking heavily with yourself and another in Cork....you claim to be his friend, but you weren't remotely concerned about him then as you appear not to be now...Some friend you are indeed! I thought he might have cellulitis and encouraged you, as his "friend" to get him to seek medical advice....I've no idea what goes on in that disturbed and cynical mind of yours, but please show the man some compassion.
