Lynk taxis offering FREE lifts to Dublin polling stations next Friday
Lynk taxis are offering free local lifts to people hoping to travel to polling stations to vote in next Friday's referendum.
The free rides are being offered to encourage people to get out and use their vote and make their voice heard.
The referendum on the eighth amendment takes place next Friday, May 25.
#LynkToVote is available in the greater Dublin area between the hours of 9am and 2pm.
The discount code will allow for a free local taxi journey to the value of €10.
If the taxi journey goes over this amount, the €10 will be deducted from the overall fee.
In order to avail of this discount, users must download the Lynk taxi app, enter their personal card details and the discount code, #LynkToVote and make their booking.
Noel Ebbs, CEO of Lynk Taxis said he wants his customers to be able to use their vote next week
He said:
“As a company we have a great respect for our local customers and we want to be sure they use their right to vote in this upcoming, important referendum and make it as easy as possible for them to get to their polling station.
"If our promotion encourages even one person to go out and use their vote, we’ll be pleased. We hope lots of users avail of the #LynkToVote discount code and use their valuable votes on May 25.”
Polling stations will be open across the country from 7am to 10pm.

Hail0 got behind the poofs here for the marriage referendum - pun intended. I think it was you who noted that they had plenty of time to tweet about their support for that while driver and rider complaints were being ignored. One of the double jobbers working in the depot even drove a rainbow flag car, FFS!
I was half expecting to see a few mytaxi cars offering free transport to abortion clinics but they don't seem to regard women's rights as highly as poofs' rights for some reason?

Irish taxi company, MyTaxi have announced that they are offering discounted taxis to voters on May 25.
The promotion is available nationwide from 7am - 10pm to enable voters to get to their local polling stations nice and early.
The offers, which was sent out in an email to users today, offers customers a €10 discount until the polls close.
"The referendum is important so we don’t want anyone to miss out on their chance to vote!" the announcement said.
To avail of the discount simply add the Promo Code 'VOTINGDAY' below to the Profile section of your app.
The company have also advised users to prebook for a suitable time tomorrow to avoid disappointment.

City cabs cars in the 90s were abortions I'm told.
Filthy but very reliable. If the driver was over 6'2" or so then it was very uncomfortable for the trio of drunks heading home. The girl organising the servicing was a little gem and also very helpful to those drowning in their inept radio system. Was that the lovely Sarah? For the brief time I was on the fleet Vernon was in charge of servicing or, more accurately, the lack thereof. I remember him telling a driver who wanted wiper blades that it wasn't raining and, on another occasion, meeting him at Kevin St to get a few cars passed out. His modus operandi was to swap bits off each as it went in for the somewhat lacklustre "examination". He also repaired a roof sign for me once, opting to discard a rubber strip that was left over when he was done. Later in the day a truck driver pulled up beside me and kindly told me the roof sign was about 3 miles back down the road!

Was Gerry not withe the other half (The Black Taxi Company) on Frederick St. North... they had a 24 hour garage, used the power wash once or twice to hose out puke.

Not sure about the name Sarah but she dealt with basic complaints such as power surges and alternator failures etc. She knew most men had problems communicating with the aforementioned gentleman, as in those who couldn't grunt or shake at will. She even rang to tell me I was due a one hundred and fifty punt rebate at some point and asked me to call to collect it. I thought her name began with a C but not sure. Jap imports ruined it all soon after.

City had no Nap imports when Ebbs bought it. The fleet was all black cabs and Serenas. I think you're mixing it up with the Frederick St North crowd.

Eurocabs had the black cabs. City cabs ran a lot of 1988 Corollas. A friend drove a black cab belonging to Mullins, 8-hour shifts, run into the ground.

City only had Black cabs and Serenas on the fleet when Ebbs bought it. Ebbs had his own fleet of import Corollas with Blue Cabs at that time. Naturally, some of those were moved to City... Of course Ebbs subsequently bought Blue Cabs.

My mate who had a blaxie with City also drove a 1988 corolla.
Only remember Ebbs as a driver with blue.
Don't know if it was before, during, or after the cloning scandal.

Ebbs had a good few cars with Blues before he bought city. He even had his own garage on Hill St to service them. Mostly white corollas, Pat Claffey (former Blue Cabs Manager/Director) had a fleet of similar cars. All 2/3 man cars.

We both owned a gaff on the same estate, Glasnevin Downs in Finglas East, he in 13 (unlucky for some), and me in 33. Never crossed paths though. I'd imagine I just assumed it was a gnome in the garden when passing by. 8)
