Flip flops are probably dangerous.Shorts wouldn't bother me.We're only driving monkeys.No point in sweating our balls off just to look good for some gimp in a suit who doesn't want to wear one.

Don't think it's only F/N who have to keep their cars clean rat,I know of a particular gentleman who works for your beloved cab20000000000000 who was up in a certain hotel recently on official business of making sure the SELF EMPLOYED drivers were doing what they were told and wearing their uniforms ,and clean cars this prick called James actually made a comment to a mate of mine that the drivers usually shite themselves when they see him coming in fact he told my mate that sometimes they even do a u turn and high tail it out of there how's that for being self employed

I think it's only the FN ambassadors that have to keep their cars clean, Ken. However, we have all been threatened with sacking if we try to recoup parking fees incurred ins collecting Free Now's clients... previously we had to give discounts of up to 33% and I think MfH was suspended for stealing Priority status or something like that. Free Now gives out mixed messages as far as dress goes... they have instructed drivers who serve their "business" clients to dress appropriately yet they supply hooded tracksuits to the FN ambassadors.

There was a suggestion in an email from Free Now once that cars should be kept clean and preferably get a wash Twice weekly but there is no enforcement of it, also they once requested drivers to wear approiate attire as in Not track-suits, T-shirts or Runners.
Hardly too much to ask of a PSV driver ?

During the long heatwave last summer there were some scary looking sights emerged from the drivers door of a few Cork cabs !

Ken any driver with the slightest bit of pride in his job would maintain an appropriate level of cleanliness bboth personally,and also his work place or his car.if he need to be TOLD to do it by Kelly Kearns Ebbs etc then he has no place in our industry.the only enforcement in this regard should be carried out by the NTA enforcement team.to some extend they actually ARE our bosses not the afore mentioned towrag

To be fair, DM... all of us who work for Free Now know we must obey their rules as well as NTAs. They can (and will) suspend or sack us, not NTA.

Good fer the Dispatcher, I'm no big fan of dispatchers but good to see that someone is making an effort to keep drivers in line.
The state of some drivers and their cabs is a disgrace, it's not too much to ask of a PSV driver to wash, shave and put on decent clothes ?

No, technically we're self-employed so we are responsible for our own income tax or lack thereof as the case may be. However, they can still sack us.

I don't think you have much choice up above in Dublin these days. I frequently collect passengers who suggest that I must be the last Irishman driving a taxi in Dublin.

I was in the Cork FN office yesterday and they were offering branded FN jackets, No Hood.
