I done a Tour a few Weeks ago for two Canadians They thought Dublin was a Planning disaster they recon it should of been buldozed down outside of the Actual City center .They were involved in City Planning they liked Ballyfermot as basically it was built on a grid with Sarsfield ,Decies and Landen alljoined up by the roads that crossed them but when they got to Upper Ballyfermot and Cherry orchard they couldnt believe all the dead ends and closes .To them it made no sence .Kilmore is well designed then you look at Tallaght built about the same time is a maze .Dublin is not transport friendly unless you are on foot or bike and that is now becoming a reality for planners .There was no planning in the past just whatever the builder wanted he got .When you look at Clondalkin or Lucan they were wide open flat spaces ideal for a grid system but they planned and planned until they broke it .
