There are many reasons why drivers might like to offer  CC facilities,but being instructed to by the NTA has to be in breech of the law. They have no legal right to instruct a driver how he should accept payment.here is one example take the case of ( say) a husband and wife splitting up,and she tries to get the court to determine a weekly amount he should pay her based on his average weekly earnings.the fact that his weekly earnings is now recorded as a result of him having to offer CC facilities,makes her case for her

Right now, you can ask upfront for the cash money if you think you won't get paid at the end of the journey.  If we *have* to accept cards, could you charge the passenger 1cent at the beginning to prove their card works before you start the journey.  Wouldn't stop the more sophistcated scams but it might put regular punters off using cards?

A forced scheme like this plays into the hands of FN etc who can handle card verification/declined payments/etc that we can't do alone as sole traders.

Yep... I know of 2 drivers doing that while now but still scum in my opinion.

Me personally im app free and radio free since the new year and so far it hasn't made much of a difference on my income to previous January's

I wonder.  Didn't the CC system for shops break down last year and most of the city centre shops put up signs 'cash only'.  I don't think people were able to walk out of shops with stuff just because they couldn't pay by card.

Im not so much down on F/N as I am on those radio dispatch bastards who treat the drivers like they were employees.how fukkin dare they treat drivers the way they do by making them wear uniforms,(which they must pay for) offer discounts to the customers (at the drivers ) expense ,and here is the one that REALLY kills me.actually TAKING DISCIPLINARY ACTION against drivers if they dont fall in line.I dont know who I blame more ,them for introducing such shite, or the drivers for putting up with it.when you think about it,the DRIVERS employ those cunts simply to provide work nothing else,yet here are the drivers allowing their businesses to be dictated to

FREENOW are worse Call centres, massive discounts,Ambassador programs, and they decide what work you get, not you.They will take full control. Dispatch companys will become like the old record player or CD players obsolete if they dont go with the times ,everyone has a smartphone.Obviously if drivers are taking off Branding,freenow has crossed a redline.The Germans need to rethink there strategy.Oul Bill from Freenow be out hunting his Ambassadors tonight
