Japan's going into recession - think someone said their economy is gonna contract 7% this year.  And developing electric car technology is super-expensive.

The endgame?
They're fighting over crumbs.  Also, the world order is changing.  Politicians aren't saying it out loud but they're all scrambling to be ahead of the game when the new world order comes in.  America as an empire is declining and will be gone soon.  China and India will be the next superpowers.  Russia and the Middle East will die a slow death as the world moves away from petroleum products.  Haven't made my mind up about Europe.  Europe is kinda fukked because all the Africans are gonna move here when climate change makes Africa uninhabitable.
