One third of the population lives in the greater Dublin area.  Outside of Dublin, you'll have lots of farmer-types who self-isolate naturally.  My guess?

The government says a communications mix-up meant it missed the deadline to join an EU scheme to get extra ventilators for the coronavirus crisis.  Ministers were earlier accused of putting Brexit before public health when Downing Street said the UK had decided to pursue its own scheme.  But No 10 now says officials did not get emails inviting the UK to join and it could join future schemes.

But earlier on Thursday, Downing Street said the UK would not be joining the scheme because "we are no longer members of the EU".

Downing Street has now issued a statement saying the UK had missed the deadline for the first round of procurements.  A UK government spokesperson said: "Owing to an initial communication problem, the UK did not receive an invitation in time to join in four joint procurements in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

Apparently there is an anomaly/discrimination here. If you are an employee and 66 you qualify for the temporary wage subsidy, whereby your employer will be paid 70% of your salary to pass on to you, thereby discriminating against self employed 66 yr olds. Will post the link when I get to a PC.

I see the official figures overall throughout Europe indicate covid 19 beginning to slow in line with my predictions. I predicted the figure in Ireland would be nowhere near the 15000 the experts said at the end of March, I also predicted it would start to slow around now, and my 3rd prediction was there is no way it will take anything like 18 months to produce, and develope  a vaccine. 2 out of 3 so far
