Plenty of lads looking for work?

I hope they have their own vans aswell, very few if any courier companies providing vans, all contractor work,i even saw an ad looking for drivers with their own vans with fridge units, even An Post are delivering parcels on Sat and Sun,talking to our post man, they took on 8 casual workers for postal deliveries so their fulltime staff could deliver parcels in vans.

From 29 June 2020, the rate of COVID-19 Pandemic Unemployment Payment will be linked to your earnings. You do not need to contact the DEASP about your earnings. The DEASP has access to this information from Revenue.

If you were earning €200 or more per week, you will continue to get a payment of €350 per week.

If you were earning €199.99 or less per week, you will get a COVID-19 Pandemic Unemployment Payment of €203 per week. You will get paid this new rate on Tuesday, 7 July 2020.

Employee earnings assessment from 29 June 2020:

If you are an employee, your average gross weekly earnings in 2019 and in January and February 2020 will be examined and the higher figure will be used.

For example, if your average gross weekly earnings was €195 in 2019 and €210 in 2020, the figure of €210 will be used. Similarly, if your average gross weekly earnings in 2019 was higher than in 2020, the 2019 figure will be used.

Self-employment earnings assessment from 29 June 2020:

If you are self-employed, your average weekly income in 2018 will be used to decide your rate of payment.

I'm going back to work on the 1st July and intend signing off Covid payment  on the 30th, therefore I'll get paid the PUP on the 30th.
Will I owe the €350 back (is the payment for the week ahead)  or are we paid for the previous week and can therefore keep the €350????

I reckon the money is paid for the week gone past so you should be able to keep it.  Open to correction though.

Up to previous Thursday or Friday? Either way it doesn't make sense to make "emergency" payments on an accruals basis. Surely the basic concept is that recipients need the money to live.
