When we do go back, we are going to be wide open for a robbery, this time last year no one would have been allowed get into the taxi with a mask on. now they have a great excuse to have one, then you feel a blade to your neck. are you going to ask them to remove it? after all its supposed to be for other peoples protection not theirs, so you can say you aren't worried about catching the virus.

At the moment 95% of the Taxi work is through app or dispatcher which is traced and the pax tend to behave themselves much better than the messy untraced street work.

100% of my work has nothing to do with any app, I work in an area where the apps cant even be used. 100% of takings are mine.

That'll be interesting on a Saturday night when stuff gets back to some kinda normality.  4 20 somethings going to town. 1 cab with no screen or 2 cabs with. The NCT, NTA and FN set the rules and if'n ya wanna make coin then ya gotta be prepared to jump through all the hoops.

No, not as of yet, I booked a FN Taxi myself this morning in Cork to collect my cab from my mechanic,
and there was no option on the customer FN app to book a screened cab nor was I asked how many passengers.

But it is a coming !
I don't know what FN will do ?
If they limit the cab to 2 pax then their takings/commission will drop.
I'm guessing that they will just go with the 'Screened Fleet' option of allowing customers to book a Screened cab ??

I am the so called ambassador gimp, with a line of Gold stars behind me to get FN Gold status, and also signed in fer the FN 'Screened Fleet', but FN still only tell the ambassadors the same as the regular gimps.

When yiz all come back to work and the work will be scarce till the pubs re open properly in mid July, then the ambassador/gold/screened will get the First pickings of the FN jobs and the regular gimps can have what we don't want.

I honestly think the sneeze guards are pointless in regards to the virus so wont be getting one installed. And it seems they will cause more hassle when doing your suitability test etc I can take card payments so yeah maybe I will insist on card payments and then if I do get robbed I will only have a very small amount of cash on me.

most of the screens I have seen have big holes cut out in them for handing over money or card, it should be airtight if you are going to go to the bother of getting one installed.  would you use a condom with a pin hole in it?
