A great bet for small change
« on: June 22, 2020, 01:29:14 pm »
How about this Dalymount .The Greens vote not to go into government .Leo is Proposed as Taoiseach by FG and is supported by FF and the Greens .He appoints 11 senators .The Dail votes on extending the offences against the State Act .its sent to the senate for ratification then Leo goes to the Park and calls a General election .I really cant see it working out with those three parties .There would be more arguments and fights than in a Gypsy campsite .

So for betting purposes .The next Government would be a FG Minority Government as all the Ministers would be FG ers Powers betting 55/1 a FG minority .If you think the Greens wont play then this might be the only option .

The Penny is Dropping .Ian O Doherty in this mornings Indo ....We need a new government and a new Taoiseach by next Saturday or this country is screwed.

There are probably more delicate ways of phrasing it, but the reality which faces us isn't delicate - it's extremely grave.

Apart from the party political impasse which could not have come at a worse time - and more of that anon - the simple fact is that we need a constitutionally compliant government, involving both the Dáil and Seanad, to renew critical legislation which is due to expire on June 30.

As I said If the Cabbages vote No then the only Option is Leo is re elected by the Dail on the Understanding that he only Nominates his 11 senators (teachocs nominees) then offers the Dail the chance to renew the offences against the state act ,Dail passes that then it goes to the Senate they pass it .Then Leo goes to the Park and we have another General Election .Under Paddy Power T&C s that would mean the next government is a FG minority Government .50/1 has to be worth a tenner if you think the Greens will vote no .
