Ok ratti .....I've phoned the very helpful nta .....
He has Informed me that all yu need to do is email to .....


Suspensions@nationaltransport.ie and tell them you want to suspend your licence for another month

Octy you can defer it for up to three months in one go.I'm in my second three-month suspension.

Thanks merc .....I've just kept it short an sweet ...."I wish to suspend for another month .....
Good to know you can suspend another 3 months without fear of a retest which would send me into a spiral of depression after me 4 months battle tryin to get me drivers licence

Ok lads....i'm a little confused,i'm coming to the end of my 3 month suspension(one month at a time).....Roy mentioned something about a maximum 6 months....can i continue to suspend my licence without the NTA threat of possibly having to redo the licencing process?

No need to resort to four letter words, Lizzy. A little decorum please.

The email I got last month said the limit is 3 months in total. I didn't notice that at the time but that's what sparked me into action today. Perhaps they are stretching the rules a bit on account of the pandemic? Anyway, I think I'll be going back next month regardless, €203 isn't really enough to keep me idling.

Costs about a grand a day to have yu in icu on a ventilators....some in ther for 2 months......I'm savin the state a fortune by staying at home ....  :-X

40 mins wait to get through to the NTA this morning!!

I can appreciate we are in unprecedented times but 40 mins wait and not acknowledging e mails either??

That's not good enough, especially when it affects our livelihood if we have one to go back to. A waste of space quango  of the highest order.

Ring them later in the day JT.The fact that there are other drivers desperate to get back on the road would bother me more.That's your competition keeping the phones busy.Where's all the work gonna come from if most of us come back in the next few weeks.

21 mins yesterday but I'm not working, the free money is plenty for my needs/wants so it was of no consequence. To be fair, as Octy notes, they're been extremely helpful through these difficult times.
