I handed my rental back to lynk in early march, well parked it outside my gaff and sent the key back cos they had nowhere to park it.

Got a text inviting me back this week. I replied asking waht the rate was... €250 per week for car, insurance and radio/app until further notice.

What’s was the freight pre covid?

€370

€120 reduction, do ya think many drivers will stay at €250?

Not sure... but I amn't going back yet. As Shallowhal says €250 plus fuel and I live in Gorey so commuting to Dublin increases the fuel bill. Just don't see it working consistently.

Might set up in Gorey though with a hackney, limo and/or minibus and disrupt the local bogger market. No one flying for the foreseeable, so Wexford is busy with staycations and Dubs migrating to their mobile homes.

Best of luck whatever ya decide, the cheapest I’ve ever seen a rental was a 1999 Rover 600 for the princely sum of €80pw. Needless to say it was in less than pristine condition. But still €80 per week and it moved and kept the wind and the rain out.

There you are...

I'd buy a dog from a traveller in a carpark before I'd buy anything off donedeal.

At that money it’s cheaper to rent that than it would be to blow the cobwebs off your taxi garden ornament and run the risk of a clutch going or turbo and facing a couple hundred euro repair bill

I'm paying 130 for a fluence including all maintenance and fees.
If this one (for 80) doesn't include maintenance, would it be worth it.?

It says €80pw with maintenance included, really don’t know how they make money at those rates, a service kit for it would cost the best part of €50.

As a renter it must be reassuring that you can throw the keys in the platelords letterbox and walk away should it ever become uneconomical
