I used to go racing in the North in late 70s and early 80s-never had any problem-but different world !

When you got near Banbridge, common remark was "they are so black here they hate Ian Paisley"--tons of bent cash around at races ,remember being in Sean Grehams on King St on a Sat morning early ,circa 10am --25 plus slot machines all being played --and one of his lads pointing out UDA guys on opposite side of the street collecting while Provo's collected on our side --pure business !

Passed where Miami were shot a day after incident--shit myself ,couple of guys in kakis with machine guns waved me down --so I slowed thinking I would hit the pedal --they called me on with a wave on seeing the reg--bricking it !

Went racing and asked to give a lift to a guy back to Dundalk as one of the lads knew him--back in El Paso he insisted we have a drink in McCann's,then on to Maguires on Dorset st -(think that was the name)-I felt safer slowing down for the guys in kaki !
My reward a wallet and a wishing well made in H Blocks--appears my passenger was Albert Price !!

No rush back up there, thank you !

Ah you couldnt beat the old IRA vodka .Industrial alcohol and a bit of flavouring diluted in big plastic bulk containers and rebottled in 1.5 liter Smirnoff bottles with upside down labels that were collected year round from the Bars of Ulster Says No and recycled £600 a pallett or £3.40 a bottle in bulk .£12 a bottle the Girls in the flats swore by it .

It was crap I knew someone who ended up in James on a life support after it
To be fair they drank a whole litre of it
I used  to sell it before I got sence and started to sell the cigs
Waste of time al I got was grief
Theres a guy in crumlin doing the late nite gargle hes flying lately

Its Poison in a bottle I never sold it but knew plenty who did .If you knew a man who knew a man you could buy slabs of Bud or Guinness for £18 sterling or 24 Punt by the Pallet or truck load retailing down here for £2.40 a can .You could knock it out @ £35 all day .Or the Belly Busters 3 ltr bottles of Bulmers Cider but British Bulmers not the same as our Bulmers thats Called Magners because they never bought the International Brandname for Bulmers .Belly busters were £1.60 which was about £2 punts get £6 punts all day .

Went up this morning and quite pleased that I did. Remarkably few shoppers about for the day that's in it, all quite relaxed and dare I say enjoyable. Picked up a pair of shoes and a few shirts in Debenhams for half nothing... they're practically giving the stuff away, one assumes the store won't be there (for long) after Christmas. Not a Garda or Para in sight either side of the borderless border... and me after rehearsing me speech about my right to travel the Queen's highway under the terms of the common travel blah blah blah, all as Gaelige anall...
If it doesn't have a roof sign and door stickers it's not a taxi.

I married my long term partner Mrs Bullet on Lusty Beg Island just outside Kesh in Fermanagh in 2007.

The island was her idea, no escape!! 8)

I'm not a bourbon fan, TD42... but it's probably not much less than in Lidl?

You were lucky. I've dropped over the border 3 times in the last month and the shicaloni's have been there every time. They block the M1 off at the carrickdale hotel at junction 20 and herd all the traffic up the ramp. There's no escaping. Not that they were really playing hard ball at the time. It might be a bit different in the current climate with Houlohan and Meehole panicking.

Why would yis want to support northern shops rather than southern ones? Is it to promote the ideal of a United Ireland, or yis are just tight?
Trump has called for help, so I'm on a plane heading for The Strait of Hormuz, talk soon.
